The Willow: What is it? Well that's a secret. Testing behind the scenes of JPGavan Cricket for the last two season with quite impressive results. All I can say is it isn't English or Kashmir Willow. The Secret Willow wood has been extensively tested and has shown fantastic signs of performance and durability. Performance will take some time but once it hits it's peak test have show it better than most English Willow bats! In testing durability has been great on the most part. It last much longer than other willow variants that have been tested over the years and whist there haven't been any major issues in theory it may not be quite as durable as English Willow. Despite this JPGavan still offers the same full 12 month warranty on Secret Willow bats.
Most Secret Willow has a good proportion of red wood (aka heart wood, red edge) and plenty of grains. It's a fantastic wood for players of every level and rumour has it it's been used at international level by brands for years.
Oversized clefts available (50mm edge)!
Secret Willow... Why the secrecy?? The answer is simple. It's good, it's really good. The products I've been testing over the last couple years have been special. And with all that hard work working with a new type of willow i'm not particularly keen on giving it to other brands... I want the willow to stand for itself, without noise from other options. The durability is much better than a lot of alternative willow options and while it doesn't seem to quite stand up to English Willow it more than makes up for it in performance and density. If you're after something a bit different and special this is the bat for you. And if you don't trust my word that is absolutely fine, I have plenty of fantastic English Willow options available.
